offseason homework

Don’t think the board is planning on taking the entire summer off, chilling by the Best Western pool.

First things first.  The updates “Past Champions” name plate for the RDGC Cup is being mailed today.  White James, I expect pictures of you drinking gallon upon gallon of water out of it.  I’ve also done a little bit of site maintenance, updating the History and Players tabs with stats from this year’s tKO.  I want to add a Money Leaders board, so if you remember who won what this year, let me know.

I’ve gotten money from most of you guys for the van, but if you haven’t, please try to get that to me soon.  And thanks to everyone who already paid.  Also, keep sending me those pictures and videos.  Don’t worry about picking out the good ones, I can do that because I have no life.  Hopefully, I can get started on the video in the next couple weeks.

Lastly, I think White James proved his point with that complete annihilation of the field this year.  Something must be done!  And since none of us are ever going to be good enough to compete, we’ll have to figure out something to do besides improving our games.  This has not been approved by the board yet and we definitely haven’t worked out all the details, but the early idea is to start a handicapped competition as well as the chase for the RDGC Cup.  Indy Mark came up with the genius idea of everyone joining www.fairwayfiles.com.  It’s a completely free site that allows you to enter in your scores and it will calculate your handicap for you.  I’ve already created a tKO group, so you can see how your competition is improving (or regressing) during the offseason.  Do me a solid and join up, if you hardly ever play during the year, than it’s basically no work at all.  And if you play a ton, it’s a really cool way to see how you’re playing.  Once you’ve joined, let me know and I’ll add you to the group.  Hopefully this will help us manufacture some drama for the VI next May, since 15 stroke White James’ leads can be a little bit of a let down now that he figured out how to close.

Alright kids, that’s all for now.  See you on the links.

  1. White James says:

Got the name plate today. Now it seems official. I will take some photos for you.

  2. Indy Mark says:

Let’s get some photos up somewhere!…even if its just Shutterfly or something. I felt like the paparazzi was all around me for 48 hours and now we can’t see any photos weeks later? I know a bunch of you other than just Brendan had cameras in use!

For those of us old family guys that haven’t gotten to do anything fun since then, we need to at least be able to re-live TKO!
